Gun safety, gun ownership and gun control aren't at odds.

We taught our children safe gun handling at a young age. As a police officer, there were always going to be guns in our home, so it didn't make sense to hide them away and mystify them. Guns for sale, no questions asked

In Vermont in 2016, a local reporter bought an AR-15  from a private seller in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant for $500 cash, after responding to an internet classified ad. There was no paperwork filed, no background check conducted, and nothing exchanged but the money. It was perfectly legal. The reporter turned it over to the police; here's the video of the exchange.
